To the refugee

To the unlovable

To the widow

To the abused

To the ugly

To the beautiful

To the sick

To the untouchable

To the poor

To the rich

To the enemy

To all sentient beings?

Or do I mirror the fear

Of the refugee

Of the unlovable

Of the widow

Of the abused

Of the ugly

Of the beautiful

Of the sick

Of the untouchable

Of the poor

Of the rich

Of the enemy

Of humanity

And turn away in fear only to forget?

May I be a bodhisattva who realizes and mirrors the goodness within all sentient beings, and serve.
